CROSSOVER BOARD MEETING

APRIL 20, 2015 - Terry Barker, outgoing president of WWGA invited all new and soon to be former board members to her home for a brunch. Each year the new and former board members meet to exchange information to ensure continuity of the organization's executive board.

TEAM SEASON ENDING PARTY WITH AWARDS

Post Shoot Out, we raced over to Jan Bogg's home for drinks and dinner. This year we awarded the team members who scored big points during the 8 matches we played with the Valley Golf League.

CAPTAIN'S SPIRIT AWARDS

There are some exceptional team members who merited high praise for their "I am always available to play" attitude. Actually, there are many team members who had this attitude but Deb Smith and Betty Scott were STANDOUTS. They said they would play if I needed them and they did. Also, Viggy Stankovic, Terry Barker, Caroline Davis, Jan Boggs, Dixie DeWitt, Wendi Woodard, actually the whole team!

I handed the TEAM HANDBOOK to our next year's captain, Beth Maynard. Dinner was served.

Matt Currey was presented a thank you card and a tip for coaching the team throughout the season. He gave us one last tip until next year, the secret is how and getting out of trouble on the golf course.

TEAM SHOOT OUT

APRIL 20, THE ANNUAL TEAM SHOOT OUT was played on the Heritage course starting at 3:00 p.m.

17 team members split into two groups, lower handicaps on hole one, higher handicaps on hole 2.

It was a grueling match. Two members of team one and two members of team two squared off on the seventh hole, ending up on hole number nine was Di Carter and our newest member, Denise James. Denise was the shoot out winner and took home the silver cup.

WWGA MEMBER GUEST INVITATIONAL - COWGIRLS

Angie Moore and her crew outdid themselves on this wonderful traditional event.

The party started at Angie's home Sunday, March 29th at 4:00. Members and their invited guests enjoyed the Western Hospitality, great food and ice cold drinks on the patio. The golfing begins tomorrow, Monday, March 30th and continues on Tuesday, the 31st on the Heritage course.

Thank you to Angie and her committee for an outstanding Member Guest Tournament. 64 ladies came to play--32 members and 32 guests.

TEAM TIDBITS

The match play events that the Valley Women's golf league sponsors are almost over for the season. Our last event is scheduled for April 13th at Encanto golf course in Phoenix. April 20th is slated for the Traditional Shoot Out and end of season party for the team.

We are searching for a new team shirt. We have some options.

March 5 brings the Biltmore ladies to the West side for a lively golfing experience with the WWGA. Ann Polumbus is the coordinator for this event.
