IT'S A NEW SEASON - 2015-2016

ORANGE BALL - October 29

32 Members formed their own foursomes, one player of the team had to be a special invited male guest. We teed off on the Heritage Course to sunny skies. Lovely day....

WINNERS: FIRST PLACE Elsie Wilner, Jan Boggs, RoMcVety and Lee Sullivan. SECOND PLACE Sheila Riordan, Diana Carter, Ann Polumbus and Jack Macintyre. THIRD PLACE Gail Kyle, Lida Cole, Judy Wilson and Carl Erickson. Congratulations on winning with two best balls and luck with the Orange Ball!
ok, this is the only picture I got. Team: Deb Smith, Lee Kitchel, Dixie DeWitt and Tessie Van Wagner. Lunch on the Patio at Red's.

WALTZ TIME - October 22

1-2-3, 1-2-3. FOUR PLAYER TEAMS TEED OFF on the Heritage Course at 08 hundred,   We counted one ball on hole One, two balls on hole two and three balls on hole three and continued in this format throughout the 18 holes.

WINNERS: FIRST PLACE Beth Maynard, Dixie DeWitt, Judy Wilson. SECOND PLACE Carol Erickson and Amy Flinn. THIRD PLACE Terry Barker, Jean Mills, Sheila Riordan, Laurel Prill.

The grass is still long, the ground soft and walking back and forth in the "cart path only" style is hard on the best of us.

HOLE IN ONE BY BETH MAYNARD-- Heritage course, second hole. She hit a 5 hybrid that went 135 yards and plopped into the hole.

BEAT THE PRESIDENT - October 15

21 players hit the Heritage course and bravely attacked the 'cart path only' walking marathon. It was a very warm, sunny day here in Litchfield, almost breaking heat records. So the golf wasn't our best. The lowest net score was posted by Ann Polumbus at a two over par 74. Dixie DeWitt and Susie Vanderwey came in second with a 76. The other members who toughed it out and beat the president,  Peggy Kirschner, were:

Cathy Gaines, Suzanne Boyer, Terry Barker, Jan Boggs and Tessie Van Wagner.

24 players came to play the Patriot course at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. Foursome teams played a Speedy Scramble.

CLOSING LUNCHEON 2015

After a terrific round of golf, we all gathered in the Arizona Kitchen for a delicious buffet lunch and margaritas. The theme was a mexican fiesta since it was April 30 and close to Cinco de Mayo.

Di Carter and Dee Perez created a room filled with brightly colored table coverings, paper flowers and best of all cool margaritas.

We said farewell to Terry Barker as President and welcomed Peggy Kirschner to the job for next year.

Carol Erickson, Vice President, presented Terry with a gift of appreciation for the fine leadership she displayed as this season's President.

Terry Welcomed Peggy and handed over the gavel as a symbol of her new season's responsibility as President. Peggy introduced her board to the members.

CAPTAIN'S SPIRIT AWARDS

There are some exceptional team members who merited high praise for their "I am always available to play" attitude. Actually, there are many team members who had this attitude but Deb Smith and Betty Scott were STANDOUTS. They said they would play if I needed them and they did. Also, Viggy Stankovic, Terry Barker, Caroline Davis, Jan Boggs, Dixie DeWitt, Wendi Woodard, actually the whole team!

I handed the TEAM HANDBOOK to our next year's captain, Beth Maynard. Dinner was served.

Matt Currey was presented a thank you card and a tip for coaching the team throughout the season. He gave us one last tip until next year, the secret is how and getting out of trouble on the golf course.
